Sherman Oaks is known to have some pretty good restaurants & bars. And being that everything along Ventura Blvd is pretty much a gastro pub these days, it's always refreshing to find something different.
Enter Blue Dog Beer Tavern. An un assuming bar and grill of sorts, right of Ventura Blvd. Jillian and I decided to stop in the other day for lunch and botywere we surprised.
The outside has a great little deck for drinking & sun bathing. The inside however, is mix of dive bar, meets frat house, meets hipster heaven.

Yes there was a fair share of weird facial hair, and trucker hats ironically serving some really yummy eats.
Turkey breast, crisp lettuce, vine ripened Roma tomatoes, thick cut applewood smoked bacon, and real California avocado on honey wheat bread with garlic aioli.
I of course had to try the The Blue Dog Burger
Grilled mushrooms, thick cut applewood smoked bacon and caramelized onions, topped with swiss cheese and our root beer BBQ sauce.
Over all I thought it was pretty good. Oh, and did I mention we saw 90's teen movie maven, Freddie Prinze Jr.? Yeah, that's just how us GlitzFits roll.
